sunshine-coast-makeup-trials-previews-maleny

If you’re the “I just need to see it” bride, hi! You’re my people. A preview is a calm, no-pressure test run so we can map your hair or makeup exactly to your dress, lighting and photos. It’s not required to book me, but it’s a must for anxious planners and visual learners.

Do you actually need a preview?

  • Great fit if: you’re detail-oriented, anxious, have sensitive skin/hair, new to wearing makeup, or doing a style you’ve never worn.

  • You might skip if: you wear similar glam often, you’re easygoing, or timing/budget is tight. We’ll still do a thorough consult and create a safe, durable plan.

When to book (the sweet spot is 6-8 weeks out)

  • Why not too early? At 4-6 months out, dresses, tans, accessories and Pinterest boards evolve. If we trial too soon, you’ll change your mind a thousand times.

  • 6-8 weeks out works because: your accessories are locked, hair length and colour is accurate, and we can test for Sunshine Coast humidity (Noosa beach vs. Maleny hinterland).

  • Elopements/peak season: preview appointments go fast. Lock in your preview slot when you secure your wedding booking.

What we’ll decide together

  • Makeup: finish (skin-like vs. fuller coverage, contrast, dimension, colour intensity), tear/sweat strategy, lash plan by eye shape, lip wear plan.

  • Hair: parting, face-framing, volume placement, veil/comb and accessory anchors, if clip in hair extensions are needed, wind management for beach venues (Mooloolaba, Sunshine Beach).

  • Logistics: We will discuss the run-sheet, order of services, buffer time for photos/first look, where I set up (hotel suite lighting tips).

What to bring (so your result matches the wedding day)

  1. Photos of your dress on a hanger/body, bouquet inspo, and 2–3 hair/makeup looks (max).

  2. Accessories: veil/comb/pins, earrings, hair extensions if you have them.

  3. Your real life: reference a recent photo of “you on a good day” so we keep you recognisable.

  4. Skin notes: sensitivities, SPF, tan plans.

  5. Timing: your ceremony time & departure time.

After your preview - what happens next

  • I document the products and techniques used and take photos for my records - which are all uploaded to your file. If you’d like a copy of your photos or to know the lip colour combo I’ve used, I’m only ever happy to share!

  • We lock your wedding morning run-sheet (arrival, service order, finish time).

  • Optional: schedule a mini refresh plan if you want me back post-ceremony or for a second look, or you may instead preference ordering a bridal touchup kit for makeup maintenance.
