Bridal Makeup Trial Prep

Thank you for booking your bridal makeup trial.

This appointment is designed to refine your wedding day makeup direction before the day itself. We’ll look at your features, colouring, skin, styling, personal preferences and overall wedding aesthetic to create a look that feels polished, flattering and aligned with you.

Before your appointment

Please arrive with clean, moisturised skin where possible.

Avoid trying any new skincare, facial treatments, peels, waxing, tinting or strong active products immediately before your appointment, as this can affect skin sensitivity and makeup application.

For best results, keep your skincare simple in the days leading up to your appointment and avoid anything your skin is not already used to.

What to bring

Please bring any reference images that help communicate the direction you are drawn to.

This may include:

  • makeup inspiration images

  • photos of your dress

  • veil, jewellery or accessory details

  • bouquet or colour palette references

  • previous makeup photos you have liked or disliked

  • your preferred lipstick or touch-up product, if you have one

Reference images do not need to be exact. They simply help communicate your preferred level of softness, definition, colour, finish and overall bridal style.

Skin, allergies and sensitivities

Please disclose any allergies, sensitivities, skin conditions, eye conditions or product reactions before your appointment.

This includes reactions to skincare, makeup, lash glue, fragrance, latex, sunscreen, eye products or topical treatments.

Please also let Rachel know if you have had any recent cosmetic treatments, sunburn, eye irritation, cold sores, skin flare-ups or facial waxing.

Lashes

False lashes may be used where suitable for your look, eye shape and comfort.

Please let Rachel know if you have any sensitivity to lash glue, or if you prefer not to wear false lashes.

If you have lash extensions, please arrive with them clean and brushed. Lash extensions can affect the products and techniques that can be used around the eyes, and may limit how the eye shape can be enhanced or balanced within the makeup look.

Spray tan

If you plan to wear a spray tan on your wedding day, I strongly recommend having a similar spray tan for your bridal trial / preview.

A spray tan can change how foundation, bronzer, blush, lip colour and overall makeup balance appear on the skin. Trialling with a similar skin depth and undertone gives us a more accurate reference for your wedding day look.

Please aim for a well-developed, rinsed and settled tan before your appointment. Do not arrive with a tan still processing on the skin.

During your appointment

Please raise any requested adjustments during your appointment so they can be made before you leave.

Your bridal preview is a collaborative appointment. The goal is to test, refine and clearly establish the direction for your wedding day makeup.

Wedding day services are quoted and confirmed separately.
