Bridal Hair Trial Prep
Thank you for booking your bridal hair trial.
This appointment is designed to refine your wedding day hairstyle before the day itself. We’ll look at your hair, dress, veil or accessories, inspiration images, wedding style and overall bridal aesthetic to create a look that feels polished, flattering and aligned with you.
How to prepare your hair
Please arrive with clean, completely dry hair.
For most styling, hair is best washed the night before or morning of your appointment, then dried fully and smoothly.
Please avoid arriving with wet or damp hair, as this can affect the appointment timing and final result.
Washing instructions
Please shampoo your hair thoroughly (twice) and condition only through the mid-lengths and ends.
Avoid heavy oils, leave-in treatments, masks or strong styling products before your appointment unless we have discussed this beforehand.
If your hair becomes oily quickly, washing the morning of your appointment may be best.
If your hair holds style better on second-day hair, washing the night before may be suitable.
Before your appointment
Please arrive with your hair down and free from tight ponytails, buns, claw clips or hair ties that may leave dents. If you must tie it back, a losse scrunchie or claw clip is OK.
Please do not straighten your hair before the appointment unless specifically requested, as this can make some styles harder to create and hold.
Please avoid sleeping with wet hair, as this can create uneven texture, frizz or kinks that may affect the final styling.
What to bring
Please bring any reference images that show the general style you are drawn to.
You are also welcome to bring:
photos of your dress
veil or accessory details
clips, combs, pins, headbands or hair pieces
extension details, if relevant
photos of hairstyles you have liked or disliked before
If you are bringing extensions, please ensure they are clean, dry, brushed and ready to use.
Hair limitations
Hair styling results can vary depending on hair length, thickness, cut, layers, texture, condition, extensions, weather, humidity and how well your hair holds curl or structure.
Rachel will always style with the best result in mind, however some reference images may need to be adapted to suit your hair, appointment timing and wedding conditions.
Some styles require additional time, particularly longer, fuller or more detailed styles, including styles using hair extensions. If you are unsure whether your chosen style requires extra time, please contact Rachel before your appointment.
Longer or more detailed styles may incur an additional $50 fee to allow for extended appointment time. This cannot always be accommodated on the day if there are surrounding appointments, so please ask in advance to avoid disappointment.
During your appointment
Please raise any requested adjustments during your appointment so they can be made before you leave.
Your bridal preview is a collaborative appointment. The goal is to test, refine and clearly establish the direction for your wedding day hairstyle.
Wedding day services are quoted and confirmed separately.
